Venue tour days are always good days, but today I had the distinct pleasure of touring a favorite spot of mine, The Clifton. This sweeping estate sets the stage for an intimate and elegant affair without the pomp of some other venues. Splendor and comfort permeate everything the Clifton staff does for your wedding day. In this planner’s opinion, a wonderful locale if views, ease, and service are a must for you. History. Southern Charm. Hospitality.
Lush, rich interiors welcome you with a fresh twist on this historic venue. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains and surrounded by woods, the property dates to the late eighteenth century. This manor was built at the request of Thomas Jefferson’s daughter, Martha Jefferson Randolph. The estate was lovingly renovated in the 1980’s and has become a fixture in hospitality and elevated events. The historic charm, sophistication, and location in Charlottesville have made the Clifton a must for weddings in Virginia.
Micro-weddings of up to 50 in a secret garden or magnificent soirees of 250 people in a white big top tent are all accommodated here with exquisite food and bar service. An unparalleled courteous and helpful staff make all the difference in your two-day stay. The party doesn’t have to stop at last call with 20 guest rooms at your disposal for your weekend.
As a mom, I must admit, that a huge selling point for The Clifton the available onsite babysitting service for your guests and wedding party who bring their families. When your stay and your wedding are all on one site, so logistics become a cinch to handle. There is truly a thought to everyone when you book from littles to pets. This thoughtful care is what makes the premium of booking an entire estate worth it, the hospitality and love poured into everything is priceless.
The Clifton allows you to create a true “twist on tradition.” I heartily believe the space allows you to dream is where a timeless and personal wedding is born.
I loved seeing The Clifton on your blog site. I recently had the pleasure of having dinner there with my family. The staff was warm, knowledgeable, and competent. Everything from the cocktails to the last course was delicious, and the fireplace we sat by did not make me sad.
It is in a class of its own! A personal favorite.
