You did it! I did it! Another year over. Well, almost over. How was your year? What were you most proud of? What are you going to do differently this next year? My year has had its ups and downs, but mostly ups. Thanks for asking! In all seriousness, in this blog I want to share some of my highs, a couple of my lows, and my dreams for 2023 and beyond. I would love to hear yours as well, drop ‘em in the comments below.
Where to start? On a personal note, my husband and I bought our first house in February! I had my second baby girl in March and watching her and her sister grow, play, and love together melts my heart.(If you want to see their sweet faces read this thanksgiving blog ) This year my eldest, let’s call her Peanut, has become the kindest little lady and her dreams of being a pediatrician are going strong. My youngest, let’s call her Marshmallow, is learning to talk, walk, and hold her own in a house full of big opinions! Raising these incredible creatures with my husband is the highest of highs and I am holding my hand on my camera app to capture everything they do this next year.
On a professional note, this is Lemon Drop’s first year in business! It doesn’t get much better than that. The hardest part of anything is that first step. It’s a little bit uncomfortable and terrifying, but it has been totally worth it! I took a break from work to have a baby, which was good personally as well as professionally. I feel inspired and ready to create beautiful things this next year. Want to be a part of it? Inquire today!
You cannot have highs without lows. This year our pipes burst and destroyed our new home destroying our basement. It has since been repaired but this was probably the low point for the year, as I had a 6 week old when it happened. My husband was gone for the longest three weeks of my life on a research trip. But! There is always a but to unfortunate events. My basement is now fully finished to my taste, with a soaking tub to boot, and the weekend my husband got home was the best of the summer. It is all a matter of perspective.
I am dreaming of flashy photography, night luxe reception vibes, and quiet moments with my family for this new year. I want to focus on honing the wedding planning experience of my couples, with blue sky dreams and champagne towers brought to life. I want to help you create lasting memories from your wedding day. And I want to make ample time for my couples and my family.
Balance and perspective are my buzz words for 2023. What are yours? What does this year hold? I have butterflies just thinking about it!
